Melissa Collins has been practicing and teaching yoga for over 25 years. She is certified through the Himalayan Institute for Yoga Science and Philosophy and studied Ashtanga Yoga with Beryl Bender Birch and Svaroopa Yoga with Rama Birch.
She is a certified Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist and recognized by the National Ayurvedic Medical Association. Melissa is on faculty in the Health and Wellness Department of Binghamton University.
She also has public classes in yoga and meditation at several area locations and does Ayurvedic yoga presentations and workshops for businesses, schools and other organizations in addition to individual sessions for Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy.
Melissa, a trained singer and harpist, is also a certified therapeutic musician through the International Harp Therapy Program.
She uses harp and voice for healing and restoration in area nursing homes, hospitals and private settings. She is also the creator of the Music Vigil, a palliative care program for the dying.
